THE CURRENT WEST AFRICAN REGIONAL SITUATION, OR WEST AFRICA IN THE EYE OF A GLOBAL WAR STORM

  1. The Global Context

Comrades,

The world is on the brink of a global war. The three main fronts of this emerging conflict are:

  1. Europe, with the war in Ukraine, initiated and sustained by NATO forces;
  2. The Middle East, with U.S.-NATO aggression carried out through the Zionist State of Israel;
  3. Africa, with West Africa as the focal point and the AES (Alliance of Sahel States) countries as the main targets.

This looming war pits the imperialist Global North, grouped under NATO and led by the USA, against the rising Global South, with China as its indisputable leader.

There is no doubt—the Global North, after five centuries of global domination marked by slavery, colonialism, and neocolonialism, is now in decline. Its imposed ideological and cultural values are also collapsing.

In contrast, the Global South is rising, spearheaded by China’s spectacular successes—lifting over 700 million people out of poverty, becoming a world leader in advanced technologies, and more.

This is what is truly at stake in this global confrontation: Stopping China’s rise to global leadership by any means necessary, including isolating or weakening its allies like Russia and Iran.

Therefore, every major current conflict—from Ukraine to the genocide in Gaza to the visible aggression against Iran—is ultimately aimed at weakening China.

In West Africa, what may seem like a local conflict (such as France’s use of terrorist proxies in the Sahel) is actually part of this broader geopolitical war.

The USA and its European Union partners are the main provocateurs of this coming war. The current frontmen of this aggression are Zelensky and Netanyahu.

Israel, as President Putin said, is nothing more than a U.S. military base turned into a state in the Middle East.

To weaken China, Iran must be destroyed—hence the Israeli-Iranian war, which we view as the first direct confrontation between NATO and the BRICS alliance.

It ended in a resounding victory for Iran, and thus, a victory for the BRICS camp—a major win for the peoples of the world.

We in West Africa salute this as a victory for struggling Africa, especially for West Africa.
